In the lead up to the Great North Run this year we offered sports massage treatments to runners and their families and donated money from each of the treatment fees to Heel and Toe Children’s Charity. Today, we handed over a cheque for £100 to Natalie from the charity
Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic, said: “Charities rely on the funds raised at large scale events such as the Great North Run and wanted to offer our support to a local charity.
“We offered free sessions to runners during their training for the Great North Run to offer advice on training, diagnose any running injuries and help them be in the best possible position to complete the run for their chosen charity.
“We also offered sports massages to runners, their friends and families, and to members of the public at a reduced rate, donating a percentage of the fee to a charity pot.
“We involved our social media followers in the decision on which local charity to donate the funds to on this occasion and we are delighted to be able to support Heel and Toe Children’s Charity.”
Speaking on behalf of Heel and Toe Children’s Charity, Natalie Harker said: “We are delighted with the donation from Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic, we rely on donations from members of the community and organisations such as Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic to raise funds and awareness to ensure we are able to provide a wide range of services to children and families who live each day with Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities.”
