Having been an enthusiastic runner for almost 40 years, one cannot take for granted that all will always be well. Continuing with my treatment of plantar fasciitis etc. [rather many years of niggling pain!] at the Sports Injury Clinic was therefore crucial. In particular, the Gold Running Screening has been very helpful – initial diagnosis with video recording of gait and analysis, followed by several weeks of hard rehab exercises, with roughly 6-week follow-ups – and has given me added confidence in running. Though not 100% fit, I was nevertheless pleased that I ran well my 14th Great North Run in Sept 2016.
Thanks so much to both James (Tatem) and Evelyn (McGee) for working closely with me the past few months and giving me timely advice and painful massage (!), with the consequence that I am re-learning what it means to listen to my body.
